Health & Safety worksite requirements under COVID-19 Level 3
From Monday April 27th New Zealand moves to COVID-19 Alert Level 3, which means new requirements and responsibilities for everyone engaged in the country’s building and construction industry.
It’s a relief that we can return to our worksites – however, we are all now operating under strict new COVID-19 related rules, which apply from the minute you leave home each workday until you return home at the end of the day.
There is now a requirement for compliance forms to be filled out remotely (amongst other requirements) – there is to be no physical paperwork on sites. To accomplish this Watertight will be using the mobile app SiteAppPro, which has the required functionality to help you comply under the new Level 3 regime.
Don’t leave home before you prep
A special ‘Before I Leave Home’ form can be added to SiteAppPro for completion before departing for work. The App also allows you to capture personal health status details, such as temperature, and document your transport movements for each workday – for example, how you’re getting to, and from, each site; and whether you’re driving yourself or using other means to get to work.
Where have you been? Where are you going next?
Compliance is all about keeping track of everybody on and off site. SiteAppPro also provides the required ‘Check In/Check Out’ feature to track staff and contractors through multiple worksites. This feature is searchable by a person’s name, worksite or time-zone – allowing for easy tracking of your movements in the event of a virus outbreak.
Remember, for all this to work, it’s important that you prep all the necessary documentation before arriving at each worksite. Be vigilant in your personal tracking so there is an entire snapshot of your movements at the end of each workday.
Minimise your bubble; maximise your safety
Here at Watertight, ensuring that all our staff are safe and meeting all on-site health and safety requirements, including the strict COVID-19 Level 3 rules, is absolutely paramount. We know you’re just as dedicated to meeting these new requirements as we are.
