Watertight - the Waterproofing People.

Watertight the Waterproofing People Ltd was started in April 2001 by Mike Sharp.

With over 30 years in the waterproofing industry, Mike has the history and skills to be able to deliver watertight solutions with exceptional workmanship standards.

Watertight have an experienced crew of over twenty, and focus mainly on commercial waterproofing, offering systems for the entire building envelope.

Our Team

Watertight currently has a team of 14 trade qualified applicators and 7 apprentices going through their roofing and membrane qualifications with Skills and Open Polytechnic.

Mike has over 30 years’ experience in the Auckland construction industry specializing in waterproofing

Mike is well known and respected with unrivalled experience in planning specification, design and waterproofing solutions
Ken Mackenzie
Operations Manager & Co Director
Ken has been with Watertight for over 12 years and is well known in the Auckland industry. He has a reputation for bringing projects home on time and in budget. Ken comes from a waterproofing background of 10 years in London UK.

Ken oversees Watertight’s apprenticeship programs in conjunction with outside education providers making sure we have the best staff and waterproofing team in Auckland.

Ali Finnegan - Office Manager

Ali has been at Watertight for over 10 years doing all our office day to day work.  From accounts to payroll and all in-between.

Richard J Glover - Leading Hand

Richard has been at Watertight for over 5  years. He came through his apprenticeship at Watertight and is now one of our leading hands and a very skilled applicator.
Eoin Mccomb - Leading Hand

Eoin has been at Watertight for over 5 years.​  He has recently completed his apprenticeship and is one of our skilled leading hands and applicators.

The Watertight Apprenticeship and Training Programs

Here at Watertight the Waterproofing People we believe in creating skilled competent staff from within our own company. All our staff have completed or are in process of completing their NZQA qualifications or are LPB’S. Watertight was a nominee for the Roofing training company off the year 2016. Watertight works closely with organisations like Skills,  Vertical Horizons, Construct
Safe, Safety n Action and Site Safe creating safer more knowledgeable staff on all levels of our business.  Watertight has had nominations for Roofing apprentice of the year as well as nominations for the future business leader awards 2016.
 
Each employee at Watertight is inducted into our Health and Safety plan on commencement of employment.  All Watertight staff participate in our periodic review of Watertights Health and Safety plan.
 
All Watertight staff have extensive training in all aspects across the health and safety board some aspects of this training call for refresher courses. Watertight attends these refresher courses as and when industry recommends.

Safety - ensuring all our staff are safe and competent is our priority

Watertight’s health and safety plan is ever evolving. Our team have multiple levels of training in all fields of health and safety. 
We use SiteApp for peace of mind in the field
SiteApp is more than just a workplace safety app for construction businesses, it provides a range of different features that can help to keep our workers safe and ensure that we meet our health and safety requirements. 

SiteApp gives us peace of mind that staff working out in the field are meeting their workplace health and safety compliance requirements, without taking up extra time from teams on site.

SiteApp prompts our field team to identify and list hazards for each Job/Task that they start on their tablet or smartphone. If new hazards are identified in the field then they can be added to the task on their device. When the field team identify and register a hazard they can also record risk level and action control measures.
